SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 11, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Matrix Medical Network® (Matrix), the leading provider of in-home assessments and care management, has received credentialing recertification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This certification allows Matrix health plan clients to continue to fully delegate all of their credentialing responsibilities to Matrix.
Matrix Chief Executive Officer Walt Cooper noted, “Achieving NCQA certification is an important and prestigious distinction for both Matrix and our clients. It validates that our credentialing process meets the industry’s highest quality standards and it demonstrates a commitment to compliance for our clients.”
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that companies review and verify a clinician’s training, experience, practice history and license. This process, known as credentialing, is completed initially when a clinician is hired and then at regular intervals thereafter.
Matrix has one of the largest networks of providers across the country and credentials approximately 400 clinicians monthly. As a part of the ongoing certification process, NCQA will audit Matrix biannually.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of healthcare organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA is committed to providing quality information for consumers, purchasers, healthcare providers and researchers.
