Summer Tour Series Continues at Pamplin Historical Park With The Battle of Sutherland Station

PETERSBURG, VA--(Marketwired - Aug 16, 2016) - Pamplin Historical Park founder and owner Robert B. Pamplin Jr. invites visitors to learn more about The Battle of Sutherland Station on Saturday, Aug. 20. The Battle of Sutherland Station driving caravan tour departs from The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier at 10:30 a.m. and is free with membership or regular park admission.

Part of the popular Summer Tour Series, the tour will follow the actions and maneuvers of Niles' Division against the remnants of the Confederate Third Corps with the control of the South Side Railroad at stake. The program will be led by Park Ranger and Historian Edward Alexander.

"This is an incredible opportunity for visitors to gain insight into one of the lesser known battles of the Civil War," said Pamplin. "Edward will discuss this pivotal battle and the important role it played for both sides."
