NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The New York Film Critics Series® (NYFCS®), a premiere screening company, has partnered with the nation's leading independent cinemas to present live, in-theater events. The evenings are moderated by Peter Travers, film critic for Rolling Stone Magazine and ABC's Popcorn. NYFCS offers screenings of movies before their theatrical release and presents big-screen HD broadcast with the stars and filmmakers.

The next NYFCS screening will be a red carpet premiere screening of the hilarious comedy and film festival award winner Is That A Gun In Your Pocket?... (isthatagun[dot]com) The Event will feature live appearances and talkback with director Matt Cooper and other special guests. Hosted By Peter Travers.

Is That A Gun In Your Pocket?... is written and directed by Matt Cooper, produced by Matt Cooper and Lori Miller, opens in movie theaters across the U.S. beginning September 16th, 2016 in New York and Scottsdale, before heading to Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Chicago, Miami, Cleveland, and more.

If there's one thing the men of Rockford, Texas love as much as their women, it's their guns. But life in this idyllic town is turned upside-down when a gun incident involving her son spurs stay-at-home mom Jenna (Andrea Anders) to rethink Rockford's obsessive gun culture. Much to the chagrin of her husband Glenn (Matt Passmore), Jenna ignites a movement by convincing the women of Rockford to withhold sex until every gun in town is given up. A wild and hilarious showdown ensues between the sexes. As tensions—and libidos—rise, the men and women of Rockford must decide what's really important: keeping the peace or getting a piece.
