ROCHESTER, NY--(Marketwired - September 06, 2016) - In recognition of the American Payroll Association's National Payroll Week, Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of integrated human capital management solutions of payroll, HR, retirement, and insurance services, today announced the expansion of its time and attendance portfolio to include Paychex Flex® Time Essentials and Paychex's TrueShift™ Time Clock.
Changing regulations such as the Department of Labor's Final Overtime Rule, which will go into effect on December 1, 2016, are forcing businesses across the country to consider changing business operations and more closely track employee(s) time worked.
"National Payroll Week presents the perfect opportunity to reflect on the contributions -- and growing needs -- of the payroll industry," said Paychex president and CEO Martin Mucci. "Regulatory compliance and a more mobile workforce have drastically changed the payroll landscape and increased the need for reporting time and attendance more accurately and efficiently than ever before. Paychex is committed to meeting the evolving needs of business owners, payroll administrators, and employees, and we believe Paychex Flex Time Essentials and the TrueShift time clock will do just that."
Residing in the cloud for real-time access to data, Paychex Flex Time Essentials empowers employers with automated time tracking and offers a technologically advanced, user-friendly alternative to outdated or manual processes. Key features include employee dashboards and flexible punch methods, including the ability to record mobile punches via smartphone or tablet devices.
In addition to Paychex Flex Time Essentials, Paychex is adding the TrueShift time clock to its time and attendance offering. Both economical and easy to use, this hardware features TrueShift technology built into a Wi-Fi-enabled clock that can support up to 500 employees. Key features of the TrueShift time clock include biometric technology, which can help ensure time punch accuracy, while increasing security and efficiency, and an optional image capture.
On top of these new products, Paychex's first cloud-based time and attendance solution, Paychex Flex Time, now features an advanced scheduling module. This feature offers employers greater visibility and flexibility in managing employee schedules. Employers can view schedules on a weekly basis, schedule shifts by organizational unit or employee group, set capacity requirements per shift, assign employees to shifts, and review scheduled shift capacities with color-coded representation. The new module has benefits for employees as well, allowing them to provide their availability and receive real-time email notifications of schedule changes.
Later this fall, Paychex Flex Time will be introducing its latest mobile punch option, a tablet kiosk app available for Apple® iOS devices. Rather than relying on recording time worked via a web application or a traditional wall time clock such as TrueShift, the tablet kiosk will provide users the opportunity to punch in and out on Apple devices. Not only does this offer a lighter, more convenient option for some users, it delivers enhanced functionality and a sleek user interface to help employers capture up-to-the-minute time worked. The kiosk app will also offer the option of offline punching for remote employees to record time via the app without a cellular or Wi-Fi signal and introduce an optional image capture during a punch.
