OTTAWA, Sept. 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Energate, Inc., a leading provider of interactive energy management solutions announces a new partnership with Stream, a leading provider of connected services, to provide Programmable Communicating Thermostats (PCT) and In-Home-Displays (IHD) to up to 30,000 eligible Texas customers.
Energate has been delivering in home devices since early 2015 for the Public Utility Commission of Texas Advanced Metering System. Low-Income, In-Home Monitoring Program provides families with in-home technology through their Retail Electric Provider (REP) at no cost. Energate provides a complete turnkey program to REPs that may not have otherwise been able to participate due to limited resources or other constraints.
With Energate’s commitment to incorporating other vendors' technologies into its solutions, the program with Stream offers a Wi-Fi 7-Day Programmable Thermostat, featuring seven-day programming, energy savings mode, advanced fan/control comfort, simple programming, and remote control through a mobile application.
The Energate program provides marketing, outreach, installation, customer services representative training, documentation, and administration. Additionally, this Energate program provides door-to-door marketing and telemarketing outreach in outlying areas to households eligible for the PCTs and IHDs.
With these supporting programs in place, this turnkey solution will be available to up to 30,000 eligible households in the Stream service territory, focusing on Dallas and Houston. The initial target goal was one thousand households per month, which has already been exceeded. Since the mid-July program start date, together Energate and Stream have completed 3,255 PCT and 3,500 IHD installations.
“We’re excited that we’re on track to hit our install goals. Stream is proud to partner with Energate on this project and help our customers better understand how their electricity is consumed,” said Greg Martin, Stream’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Energy Services. “We believe in empowering our customers to manage their energy budget effectively and efficiently, by putting data into their hands. Leveraging smart technologies to connect our customers to new energy management opportunities is a key part of our growth strategy at Stream.”
Eligible customers have the option to receive a Honeywell PCT, Energate’s IHD, or both. Utilizing these devices, households can gain a better understanding of how their electricity is consumed. “Energate has delivered very successful similar programs and with positive early results, we expect this to be no different,” said Steve Dodds, Energate’s CEO.
