MANHEIM, PA--(Marketwired - October 17, 2016) - Industrial fires are terrifying and can affect not only industrial plants but entire communities. Plant safety managers in industrial processes, where hazards of industrial explosion are a concern, require hoisting equipment to be spark resistant. Even the smallest electrical spark is capable of creating a massive industrial conflagration.
In a recent interview for Industry Visions Industrial News, Jason Said, Business Development Sales Manager for Harrington Hoists, Inc. demonstrated the spark resistant features of their new manual chain hoist, the RCB. "In the past, Harrington Hoists, Inc. has offered air and electric spark resistant hoists," he commented. "In today's demonstration, we would like to present the new RCB manual chain hoist. This hoist is derived from our industrial grade CB series hoist. We modified this hoist to create the RCB which meets the ATEX standards. Those standards require manufacturers of mechanical and electric equipment intended for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres to comply with established spark resistant guidelines."
The RCB is available in capacities of ½ through 3 Ton. The hoist features nickel plated load chain, stainless steel hand chain, copper plated bottom hook and bronze plated trolley wheels to help prevent friction sparks during operation. These modifications meet both EX 2B and 2D classifications in the ATEX directive. The RCB comes with all the built-in reliability that industry around the world has come to expect from Harrington Hoists, Inc."
Harrington Hoists, Inc., a KITO Group Company, operates facilities in Manheim, PA, Elizabethtown, PA, Corona, CA and South Holland, IL. Harrington Hoists, Inc. also markets hoist, crane and below-the-hook lifting devices in South America under the KITO brand.
