ATLANTA, Oct. 21, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rubicon Global founder and CEO Nate Morris was named one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2016 by Goldman Sachs at its annual Builders + Innovators Summit. Morris was one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries who were recognized at the two-day event in Santa Barbara, California.
Morris founded Rubicon in 2008 with the goal of disrupting one of the toughest industries in the world: garbage. Today, Rubicon is the worldwide leader in sustainable, cloud-based waste and recycling solutions.
“When I was growing up I always thought I would work in public service and never dreamed of being an entrepreneur,” said Morris. “But, I saw a big challenge – an industry that needed to be changed. The incredible team at Rubicon is taking this vision of less expensive, more responsible waste and recycling, and making it a reality.”
A video highlighting the Rubicon story was shown at the summit. The video can be viewed online HERE.
Rubicon helps businesses reduce operating expenses, implement recycling programs and save money by finding new and innovative ways to reduce, re-use and recycle waste. Leveraging its proprietary technology, Rubicon is disrupting the waste and recycling industry by reducing costs, diverting more waste from landfills, and empowering independent businesses. Rubicon serves the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico and launched in 18 additional countries in 2016.
Morris has led the company's fundraising efforts. Investors in Rubicon include Goldman Sachs, Wellington Management, Fifth Third Bank, Marc Benioff, Henry Kravis, Paul Tudor Jones, Auren Hoffman, Barry Sternlicht, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Just this week, Forbes named Rubicon to its 2016 list of Next Billion Dollar Startups.
