DigitalOcean CTO Julia Austin Named a Top Woman in Cloud Innovations

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 1, 2016) - DigitalOcean, the cloud for developers, today announced that its CTO Julia Austin has been named a top woman in cloud innovations by CloudNOW, the executive consortium for the leading women in cloud and converging technologies.

She is also a faculty member at Harvard Business School's Entrepreneurial Management Unit where she teaches Product Management to second-year MBA students, she serves as a trustee for the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, and she's an active volunteer for both BUILD and Year Up in Boston.

Prior to DigitalOcean, Austin enjoyed an eight-year tenure at VMware where she managed the expansion of the engineering organization -- from launching its first non-CA-based engineering site in Cambridge, MA, to leading all of VMware's Global R&D initiatives, and eventually serving as Vice President of Innovation at VMware. Prior to VMware, she was the VP of Engineering at Akamai and held technical management and consulting positions at several other startups and enterprise companies.
