FSC: Adult Performers To Fight Prop 60 at LA Farmer’s Markets

Adult film performers are heading to farmer’s markets across Los Angeles this weekend to educate voters about the dangers of Proposition 60

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 04, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Adult film stars will be handing out leaflets and talking to shoppers at farmer’s markets across Los Angeles this weekend in an effort to educate voters about the dangers of Proposition 60, the controversial Adult Film Initiative.

Proposition 60, which would allow any resident of California to sue an adult performer who appears in a film without a visible condom, has been opposed by thousands of adult performers, as well as the performer group APAC. Prop 60 has also been opposed by both the Democratic and Republican Parties, over forty five state newspapers, and over a hundred HIV/AIDS organizations, civil rights and public health advocates.

Adult performers including Kendra Lynn, Veruca James, Siouxsie Q, Chanel Preston, Dee Severe and others will be staffing tables and engaging voters at the following markets:

FRIDAY, NOV 4
Echo Park Farmer’s Market
Logan St., Echo Park

SATURDAY, NOV 5
The Original Farmer’s Market (The Grove)
6333 W. 3rd St.

Burbank Farmer’s Market

Pasadena Farmer’s Market

Proposition 60 is the only ballot measure opposed by both the California Democratic Party and the California Republican Party. It has been opposed by over fifty local and issue-based political clubs; over forty five newspaper editorial boards (including each of the state’s ten largest papers); over a hundred HIV/AIDS organizations, doctors and civil rights advocates; and the performers’ groups APAC and APAG. Over the past several months, nearly two thousand performers have actively campaigned against Proposition 60 by speaking out at university campuses, farmers markets and on social media, as well as leading political rallies and protests.
