King & Spalding Grows Finance and Energy Practices in New York

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - November 14, 2016) - King & Spalding announced today that Brian Betancourt has joined the firm's New York office as partner in the global finance practice. Betancourt joins King & Spalding from Alston & Bird.

Betancourt's experience includes financing and the development of energy and infrastructure projects, as well as the acquisition and divestiture of energy and infrastructure facilities. He represents banks in connection with numerous types of loan transactions as well as direct purchases of bank qualified and non-bank qualified bonds, primarily for healthcare and not-for-profit entities. He received a BA. from University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from New York Law School.

Betancourt joins an expanding global finance team in New York, which earlier this month added Brandon Dalling as counsel from Latham & Watkins. Dalling's practice focuses on project development and project finance, M&A transactions and commodity derivatives in the energy sector. Betancourt and Dalling join partners Jeffrey Misher, Terry Novetsky and counsel Anthony P. Mechcatie, all of whom joined the global finance practice earlier this year in the New York office.
