NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 15, 2016) - Institutional Investor is pleased to announce the results of the 2017 rankings of America's top CEOs, CFOs, Investor Relations Officers and Investor Relations programs. This year, 3,178 individuals, up from 2,133 in the previous year, voted in the All-America Executive Team rankings. More than double the number of investors voted in this year's survey across 45 business sectors. The IR programs were evaluated on six criteria including, accessibility of senior management, authoritative IR, transparency of financial reporting and more.
New Research from Institutional Investor links clear, consistent and proactive corporate engagement to investor loyalty; those executive intangibles that look beyond straight price performance.
A surge of direct commentary was received from investors and analysts -- with intangibles cited as reasons for recognition. One typical comment from an investor cited how top CEOs "consider corporate culture and productivity when balancing the short- and long-term interests of stakeholders." Another, "showing an ability to withstand investor pressure and instead do what is right for the company across the cycle."

Institutional Investor is launching its inaugural mid cap rankings across 45 sectors, recognizing those companies between $2-10bn in market cap separate from the rest of the market. One IRO shared, "This is a great initiative...understanding how we're benchmarked against our market cap peers will be extremely useful."
Will Rowlands-Rees, Managing Director of Research at Institutional Investor commented, "With the economic uncertainty caused by a China slowdown, Brexit decision and US elections now behind us, coupled with continued inflows into passive vehicles at the expense of actively managed equity, it's even more important for companies to engage their investors and key stakeholders, tell their story, and ensure it's understood. This year we had a tremendous response in our survey, really showcasing the firms that have been most successful in the last 12 months at executing their investor outreach and strategy, and with a new focus on midcap companies in addition to our overall research, we're delighted to be able to help showcase new companies that have a great story, and are excelling at telling it."
