Dr. Robert B. Pamplin Jr. Invites Public to Candle Making Event at Pamplin Historical Park

PETERSBURG, VA--(Marketwired - Nov 15, 2016) - Pamplin Historical Park founder and owner Robert B. Pamplin Jr. invites the public to the 2016 Focus Weekend event "Lighting the Way" to learn about the process of candle making during the Civil War era. The Focus Weekend event series explores everyday life in the 19^th century as seen through the lens of modern life. The "Lighting the Way" presentation will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pamplin Historical Park's Education Center. This event is free with park admission and open to the public.

"Well before electricity became widespread, candles were a necessity of daily life," said Pamplin. "Teaching the craft of candle making is one of the many ways the park continues the mission of imparting the fascinating and dynamic stories of America's Civil War era with today's audiences."
