San Francisco, CA, Dec. 08, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
Riviera, a full-stack, tech-enabled recruiting firm specializing in engineering and product talent, announced it has significantly grown its executive staff as well as promoted six current team members to meet the growing demand of its client portfolio. This newly elevated team comes on the heels of a robust fourth quarter for the company, with a record number of candidate placements.
One of the biggest challenges tech companies face is the ability to scale their tech and product teams, a problem Riviera has been helping clients solve for more than 15 years by sourcing across the full organizational stack, from CTOs all the way down to individual contributors in engineering and product. To continue delivering great support on all levels of hiring and to meet the growing demand of thriving tech companies, the company has promoted six of its staff: Jodi Jefferson to Director, Isa Guardalabene, Kiana Sharifi, Sian Tom and Sophie Thomas to Principals, and Brandon Brown to Associate. They also just hired former VonChurch CEO, Jason Hann, as a Director.
In addition to elevating its internal team, Riviera also made a number of key executive hires in 2016, including Tammy Wang as VP of Data Science (formerly of Zillow) and Will Hunsinger as COO (formerly CEO at both Evri and SportsStream, which was acquired by Facebook). Together Wang and Hunsinger are focusing on readying Riviera’s latest proprietary technology platform for market in early 2017. Along with current Riviera VP of engineering, Majed Itani, they lead a team of 20+ product managers, engineers and data scientists, all tasked with implementing Riviera’s vision of streamlining the hiring and recruiting process by creating a platform that leverages data and machine learning to make the industry more efficient.
“In the engineering-focused hiring industry you have to be mindful of the fact that engineering roles are the core of a company and are critical to their success, but that on the recruiting side these roles can be very challenging to fill. The Riviera data-based approach to this delicate balance is what sets us apart and is the reason we consistently place quality candidates that meet the needs of our clients,” said Will Hunsinger, COO of Riviera.
As the company looks ahead to 2017 the focus will be continuing to deliver excellent client service and on the upcoming launch of Riviera’s new technology-enabled talent marketplace, where the highest quality engineers will be matched with the most relevant opportunities and clients will have transparency into the process, driving new efficiencies into modern hiring.
For more than 15 years Riviera has been approaching hiring differently than anyone else, focusing on the development of proprietary technologies to improve transparency for clients and candidates, alike. The firm is well-known for its ability to place difficult high-level hires, such as CTOs and VPs of engineering, as well as career management for a number of its candidates, who work with Riviera at every stage of their career. The company has placed key roles at Hulu, Uber, LinkedIn, OpenX, ZenDesk, Houzz, Pinterest, Postmates, and Tinder and partners with venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Benchmark, Accel, Menlo Ventures, KPCB, Greylock and General Catalyst to help them source the best engineering and product talent for their portfolio companies.
