NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- David B. Haber has joined WilmerHale as a partner in New York, where his experience serving emerging companies will strengthen the firm's commitment to the city's startup economy. Mr. Haber has worked with technology companies for the past 20 years, both in Silicon Valley and the New York area.
"We are pleased to welcome David to the firm," said Susan Murley, co-managing partner of WilmerHale. "The firm has long been a national leader in the representation of clients in the emerging company and tech space. David will help us to continue to strengthen that focus in New York, which is one of the nation's leading tech markets and a key market for our practice's growth."
Mr. Haber was most recently a partner at a leading national firm in New York, where he played an important role in the successful development of that firm's technology practice in New York. Mr. Haber focuses his practice on the representation of venture-backed companies, handling venture capital and angel financing transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. From start-up to expansion-stage financing transactions to multi-billion-dollar public acquisitions, he has advised companies and investors through the entire company lifecycle, with clients representing a broad array of technologies.
"WilmerHale's global reputation and reach, combined with its significant history of representing technology companies, provides me with a world-class platform to continue to build my practice," noted Mr. Haber. "Bolstering the firm's presence within New York's startup community and collaborating with new colleagues who practice at the top of the field is an extremely exciting opportunity."
Since 2006, Mr. Haber has served as an adjunct associate professor of business at Columbia Business School, teaching second-year courses on venture capital and angel investing and, most recently, entrepreneurial law to MBA candidates.
Prior to moving to New York, Mr. Haber practiced at Brobeck, Phlegher & Harrison in Palo Alto and Weil Gotshal & Manges. He received his BA and his JD, cum laude, from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the Arizona, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and California State Bars.
