JSC “Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca” won tender in Poland
On February JSC “Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca” received first locomotive TEM2 (SM48) for repair from Poland company PKP Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa spółka z o.o.
JSC “Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca” has been awarded the right to carry out overhaul and modernization of three locomotives TEM2 by order from biggest Polish railway infrastructure maintainer PKP Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa Spolka z o.o.
Although overhaul of locomotives is the first joint project with Polish company, at the moment takes place negotiations regarding future cooperation and possibilities not only increase amount of overhaul of rolling stock, but also to develop other projects for railway infrastructure.
Despite the sharp reduction of orders which are related to the fall of Russian market, JSC “Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca” has been able to reorient activities and to attract new orders from Europe. In recent years, with European Regional Development Fund support, investments in plant development reached several million euros, which ensure the diversity and quality of provided services.
JSC “Daugavpils Lokomotīvju Remonta Rūpnīca” is one of the historical Latvian engineering companies with more than 150 years of experience in the industry. One of the main directions of the plant always was overhaul and modernization of railway locomotives, currently the plant offers also overhaul and modernization of passenger rolling stock, production of spare parts and wide range of metalworking services.
