BCG Among Top 3 on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For List for Four Straight Years

The Boston Consulting Group Shows Remarkable Consistency as a Premier Employer, Staying in the Top Five for Seven Consecutive Years and Remaining One of Only Two Companies to Make the Top Dozen Every Year Since 2006

BOSTON, March 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), one of the world’s leading management consulting firms, has extended its exceptional streak near the top of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list. Ranking number three, like last year, BCG has made the top three for four years in a row and is one of only two companies to make the top dozen every year since it began participating in 2006.

The firm also continues to enjoy the highest ranking among management consultancies by a wide margin.

BCG’s emphasis on investment in its people, high-impact client work, a collaborative culture, career flexibility and mobility, extensive learning and development, world-class benefits, and a commitment to social impact work have all contributed to the consistently strong performance on the list.

In its profile of BCG, Fortune said: “Colleagues at this global consultancy relish the chance to work with other all-stars. Opportunities for growth are ‘unmatched,’ benefits…are ‘off the hook,’ and hard work is balanced by an emphasis on self-care (think sabbaticals, fitness centers, and telecommuting)—taking the edge off the usually ‘daunting’ industry.”

BCG had one of the highest number of perks—ten—among companies in the Fortune ranking. Specific benefits include comprehensive company-paid health care coverage, generous leave-of-absence programs, geographic mobility programs and secondments, tuition reimbursement, and cross-office affiliation events, such as a worldwide soccer tournament. BCG’s LGBT-friendly benefits and practices have also been recognized as top-notch, as have its innovative work-life balance programs, such as PTO (which stands for predictability, teaming, and open communication).

In December, BCG earned a spot on Fortune’s second annual 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity list. The firm offers a variety of diversity and inclusion programs, including staff affiliation networks such as Women@BCG, the LGBT Network, the Ethnic Diversity Networks, the Veterans Network, and the recently introduced Disability Network. Great Place to Work, which provides the research underlying the Fortune rankings and conducts an extensive employee survey, noted in its review of BCG that:

  • 97% of employees say, “We have special and unique benefits here.”
  • 97% say, “I'm proud to tell others I work here.”
  • 96% say, “People here are willing to give extra to get the job done.”

Joe Davis, BCG’s Chairman of North America, commented: “The fact that we’ve been in the top three for four years and the top five for seven straight years is nearly unparalleled. This is a testament to our deep commitment to providing exceptional support, development, and benefits to everyone on our team. Attracting top talent in an environment where employees quickly develop is critical to our success and the enormous value we deliver to clients. Recognitions like this confirm our efforts are distinctive and highly effective.”

This year’s 100 Best Companies list and related stories will appear in the March 15 issue of Fortune, which goes on sale on Friday, March 10. They are available now online at Fortune.com/Best-Companies.

About Fortune’s Best Companies Methodology
To identify the 100 Best Companies to Work For, each year Fortune partners with Great Place to Work to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America, with feedback from more than 230,000 people. Each company’s score is based on Trust Index survey feedback from a random sample of employees. People anonymously assess their workplace, including the quality of their leaders, support for their personal and professional lives, and their relationships with colleagues. Survey results are compared with peer organizations of like size and complexity and are highly reliable statistically. In addition, Great Place to Work scores a Culture Audit management questionnaire from each company, which reports details such as compensation and benefits, hiring practices, recognition, training, and diversity programs.
