DALLAS, March 16, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Voyager Sopris Learning® has announced the presenter lineup—headed by leading experts in literacy education—for its 2017 Literacy Symposium, a premier two-day online professional development event this summer. With the goal of linking practitioners to the most current research in the science of literacy, the two sessions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. EDT on consecutive Mondays, July 10 and July 17.
The online symposium is designed to provide attendees an opportunity to explore the relationships among language, reading, and writing, while connecting theory to practice in sessions conducted by leading literacy education experts. As Jeffrey A. Elliott, President of Voyager Sopris Learning explained, this year's symposium includes a depth of expertise designed to give attendees unique and actionable content and information.
“Collectively, these respected individuals offer an amazing level of talent and experience,” Elliott said. “Attendees will learn from the best and the brightest in literacy education, and they'll walk away with new strategies they can apply right away to the challenges they face.”
This year's presenters include the following experts:
- Louisa Moats, Ed.D., nationally recognized authority on literacy education and renowned author, researcher, speaker, consultant, and trainer
- Louise Spear-Swerling, Ph.D., Professor of Special Education, Southern Connecticut State University
- Mark Seidenberg, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, University of Wisconsin—Madison
