TOKYO, March 31, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FRONTEO, Inc. ("FRONTEO”) (Nasdaq:FTEO) (TSE:2158), a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI) based big data analysis services, announced today that it has completed a one-year training program in advanced digital investigation and analysis techniques for the cyber-crime investigation teams of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Department and the Saitama Prefectural Police Department. FRONTEO will provide a similar one-year training program to both departments starting April 2017.
As cyber-crimes and other related crimes are becoming more complex and sophisticated, it is critical for law enforcement to develop sophisticated investigative and analytic practices to examine digital data. FRONTEO has been providing this training program to the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Department since April 2015 and the Saitama Prefectural Police Department since April 2016.
In this training program, FRONTEO supported the advancement of investigation technology and techniques employed by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police and the Saitama Prefectural Police Department in cyber-crime cases by providing various curricula on the use of AI among other advanced technologies in data analysis. FRONTEO’s program not only provides training on the necessary techniques for dealing with existing types of crimes, but also for the right perspective and attitude in preparing for future crimes. In order to further improve the officers’ techniques and readiness, a similar training program will be provided starting April 2017 to officers in the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Department (for the third consecutive year) and in the Saitama Prefectural Police Department (for the second consecutive year).
On March 28, 2017, following the completion of the 2016 training program, FRONTEO held a commemorative ceremony for members of the cyber-crime investigation teams who finished the program from both Prefectural Police Departments and awarded them with certificates that designated them as FRONTEO Certified Examiners. The proceedings may be viewed on the FRONTEO blog at http://www.fronteo.com/blog/2017/20170331150000.html.
Since its establishment, FRONTEO has been providing products and services to law enforcement agencies as one of Japan’s pioneers in digital forensic support. It is one of the few Japanese companies that engage in this business. FRONTEO intends to continue contributing to the development and realization of secure and safe communities through its investigation and analysis technology.
