PLANO, Texas, April 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dancing shoes and good moves are required at the fourth annual My Possibilities Community Ball on Saturday, April 29 at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Frisco. A Plano-based non-profit, My Possibilities is dedicated to empowering adults with special needs through quality continued education. The Community Ball will help raise funds for the organization’s clients, who are lovingly referred to as Hugely Important People or HIPsters.
The theme of this year’s event is “The Big Reveal,” and local magician, Trigg Watson will be the evening’s emcee. Watson will reveal some very exciting news regarding the future of My Possibilities and the entire North Texas special needs community. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. Tickets for the event start at $150, and can be purchased online at www.MyPossibilities.org/CommunityBall.
This event was not just created out of the desire to raise funds for the organization. The Community Ball is also an opportunity to celebrate the HIPsters and their accomplishments. Guests will have the pleasure of interacting first-hand with the HIPsters for whom they are raising money and advocating, while witnessing the joy HIPsters exhibit and spread as they dance to live music provided by the Georgia Bridgwater Orchestra. In addition to a formal dinner and dancing, the event will host a silent auction, wine pull and raffle which will last throughout the evening.
For the third year, Alliance Data is the Presenting Sponsor for the My Possibilities Community Ball – and many North Texas businesses, families and individuals have also joined together to make this event successful again this year.
In addition to Alliance Data, Berry Family Services has committed to be the HIPster sponsor for the evening while The Behavior Exchange has partnered with the event as a Community Sponsor. Gold Sponsors underwriting the ball include: Chase’s Place, GCATS, Margaret McDermott and the Eugene McDermott Foundation, Liz & Tim McHugh, Infinitude Creative Group, Service First Mortgage, and The Weeks Law Firm. These supporters and many others believe in providing educational and life enriching opportunities for MP students. Their ongoing support shows the level of commitment that North Texans have for the special needs community.
“It is heart-warming to see the community rally around My Possibilities,” said Charmaine Solomon, one of the center’s founders and current chairman of the board. “We are so grateful to our friends from Alliance Data who have honored us by once again, serving as our Presenting Sponsor. Additionally, we deeply appreciate the ongoing support from Berry Family Services, as well as Men’s Warehouse, the Prom Closet from St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, and other organizations too numerous to mention.
“There is no way to thank all of the businesses, donors, concerned parents and volunteers that have spent countless hours working to make the My Possibilities Community Ball possible,” Solomon added. “With the support of our friends within the community, My Possibilities continues to grow and offer an unprecedented array of educational programs that have made a real difference in the lives of the adults with special needs that live in North Texas.”
“With just under one week until the ball, we already have more than 1,100 people attending,” said Michael Thomas, Executive Director of My Possibilities. “The Community Ball is going to be a big event with entertainment and fun for all. The HIPsters, staff, volunteers and sponsors can hardly contain their excitement. Purchase your ticket today, and help My Possibilities continue to make a marked impact in on adults with special needs living in North Texas.”
