CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - May 22, 2017) - The Missing Children Society of Canada is highlighting 10 cases leading up to International Missing Children's Day on May 25th with hope that the public can help provide answers for our searching families.
The four Azer children from Courteny, B.C. were on a holiday in Germany with their father, Saren Azer in August 2015, from which they never returned.
Saren Azer, who is also known as Salahaddin Mahmudi-Azer, is now wanted by RCMP in Canada where he will face abduction charges. A court had granted Saren Azer, who was separated from his wife, permission to travel out of the country with his children for a holiday on the condition that they return by Aug. 22, 2015.
Sharvahn, Rojevahn, Dersim and Meitan were seen in Cologne German on Aug. 13, 2015. But in violation of a Canadian custody order, they entered the Kurdish Region of Iraq on Aug. 15, 2015 where they lived until early 2016. They crossed into Iran and are believed to now be living in the northeastern city of Urmia.
The story of the family has made headlines since their disappearance, thanks in part, to the ongoing efforts of mother Alison Azer, to keep it alive. In May 2016, Saren Azer posted a message on Facebook with himself and the four children, saying they are happy and healthy, a claim their mother, who was quoted in the Toronto Star, does not believe.
Sharvahn Delahn Mahmudi-Azer was 11 when she disappeared. She has brown eyes and hair and was 4'11" tall and weighed about 90 pounds at the time she disappeared. She was born Aug. 3, 2004.

Meitan Serbast Mahmudi-Azer was three years old at the time of his disappearance. He has brown eyes and hair and was 4'5" tall and 44 pounds when he disappeared. His birthdate is June 1, 2012.
Their father, Salahaddin Mahmudi-Azer (Saren Azer) is a medical doctor, who is described as 5'10" tall and about 150 pounds.
On Aug. 24, 2015, Comox Valley RCMP got a Canada Wide Warrant of Arrest for Salahaddin Mahmudi-Azer (Saren), in relation to charges of 'Abduction in Contravention of a Custody Order', contrary to Section 282 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
