VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - May 30, 2017) - The latest research and developments in child and youth health will be showcased during the Canadian Paediatric Society's 94th Annual Conference, May 31-June 3 in Vancouver, B.C. More than 900 paediatricians and other child and youth health professionals from across Canada are expected to attend.
The conference will feature:
- A keynote address by former NHL player and child abuse advocate, Sheldon Kennedy. Sheldon will share his talk, Why I didn't say anything, on May 31, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. PDT.
- Timely workshops and concurrent seminars on child and youth health. Topics include emerging concepts in developmental paediatrics, management of common infectious diseases, infant mental health, and Aboriginal child health.
- Release of new CPS position statement on the use of screen-based media among children under 5 years old.
- Over 100 scientific abstracts in areas such as injury prevention, adolescent medicine, infectious diseases, nutrition, and neonatology.
- Paediatric Update: Presentations on some of the timeliest issues in paediatrics including head injury and return to play, HPV9 for boys and girls, and Lyme disease. Paediatric Update is Saturday, June 3 at 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. PDT.
