Manchester, NH, June 02, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Visiting faculty member Zia Haider Rahman has recently been appointed to a prestigious Radcliffe Fellowship at Harvard University. The Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program annually selects and supports 50 leading artists and scholars who have both exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishments. As a fellow, Zia will focus on his individual project while benefiting from a dynamic, multidisciplinary community at Harvard University. Fellows are at the forefront of the arts, journalism, humanities, sciences, and social sciences.
Zia Haider Rahman is a British novelist who was born in Bangladesh and raised in the UK. His debut novel On the Light of What We Know was published in 2014 to international critical acclaim. In August 2015, Rahman was awarded the prestigious James Tait Black Memorial Prize, Britain’s oldest literary prize. In 2016 he was the recipient of the inaugural International Ranald McDonald prize. He will be joining the Mountainview summer residency program of Southern New Hampshire University this June and again in January 2018.
