Lovoy has joined the firm’s Birmingham office and Consumer Financial Services Compliance practice group as Of Counsel. She had previously practiced from the firm’s New Orleans office from 1994–1999.

Lovoy’s practice focuses on banking and financial services, compliance, and data privacy and cybersecurity. She represents a variety of consumer financial service providers including banks, residential mortgage lenders and servicers, and automotive and personal property finance companies. In addition, Lovoy advises financial services companies, retailers, and other companies on compliance with federal and state privacy and data protection requirements. She has assisted several clients with investigations and responses to data security breaches and ransomware attacks.

She is a frequent industry speaker and author on consumer financial services regulatory compliance topics, and is also an instructor for the Ellie Mae/AllRegs Mortgage Compliance for Origination course.

Lovoy received her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1987. She also holds an M.B.A. (1992) from the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business, and a B.S. in Corporate Finance and Investment Management (1984) from the University of Alabama. She is admitted to practice in Alabama, Louisiana, and Illinois.
McGlinchey Stafford’s Birmingham office, founded in August 2015, now has six attorneys.
