Dr. Alavi, a consulting dermatologist at Women’s College Hospital, Toronto, and assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is being honoured for bringing an orphan skin disease called Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) into the spotlight for Canadian dermatologists.
