Media Preview - New Canada Goose Arctic Gallery Canadian Museum of Nature, Tuesday, June 20, 10 a.m.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 19, 2017) - Media are invited to the official preview of the museum's new permanent Canada Goose Arctic Gallery. This 8,000 sq. ft gallery, the museum's Canada 150 legacy project, will open to the public June 21, 2017 with the goal of transforming people's understanding of the Arctic, and its importance to Canada in the 21^st century.

Learn about the Arctic's geography, ecosystems and sustainability, as well as the impacts of climate change through 200 authentic specimens and artefacts, stunning multimedia, indigenous perspectives, guided learning, activities, games and more. Take in the multimedia experience Beyond Ice, a co-creation with the National Film Board that offers a sensory introduction to the sounds, sights and even feel of the Arctic through real ice! Enjoy Inuinnauyugut: We Are Inuinnait, a temporary exhibition curated by the Kitikmeot Heritage Society, and located in the Northern Voices Gallery. Behold the original work created by Inuk artist Nancy Saunders, which deconstructs and reconstructs images across surfaces throughout the gallery in an immersive experience called Anamorphosis.
