Governing Approved for $150,000 Engagement Award for Project on Innovation Dissemination across State & Local Health Systems

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - July 18, 2017) - Governing has been approved for a $150,000 funding award through the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards program, an initiative of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). The funds will support the diffusion of innovation, promising practices and new evidence about person-centered, outcome focused approaches in state and local health systems.

Mark Funkhouser, publisher of Governing, and Rhiannon Gainor, director of research, will lead the engagement project at Governing. Through a survey followed by a series of in-person convenings, this program is designed to explore if and to what extent evidence and clinical effectiveness research are informing state and local healthcare policy and practice and to facilitate engagement with a core stakeholder group: policy makers and health officials.

Spreading Ideas - Improving Outcomes: Driving Innovation in State & Local Health Systems is part of a portfolio of projects PCORI has funded to help develop a community of patients and other healthcare stakeholders who have the knowledge, skills and partnerships to participate in and advance patient-centered outcomes research and patient-centered comparative effectiveness research.
