VANCOUVER, B.C., Aug. 23, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HonkMobile, North America’s fastest and most convenient way to find and pay for parking, today announced a major expansion into Metro Vancouver. Building off its successful launch at UBC last year, Honk is joining the EasyPark family, allowing drivers to pay for off-street municipal parking across the City of Vancouver with the touch of a button.
The Honk app allows motorists to seamlessly search, pay for, and top up parking directly from their smartphone, tablet or computer. Users receive a 15-minute reminder before their parking expires and the app allows them to buy additional time remotely, preventing costly tickets. Honk’s convenient online payment reservation system lets users reserve a parking spot before they leave home, eliminating the frustration caused by circling the block to find a parking spot.
Drivers in the Metro Vancouver area can begin using the app immediately for parking at multiple off-street parking lots across the city. Included are four special event parking lots by the Rogers Arena - perfect for cheering on the Canucks or attending that Drake Concert! Remaining off-street parking spots will begin accepting Honk in the coming weeks. In addition, Honk users will automatically get $2.00 off the event parking rates at these lots.
“We are thrilled to welcome Honk to the EasyPark family,” said Nigel Bullers, EasyPark CEO. “The addition of Honk’s innovative secure payment system advances our mission of providing safe, clean, friendly and convenient parking for Metro Vancouver drivers. We want customers to be able to use the app that they have on their phone, it’s really their choice and for people at UBC that means that they have the Honk app. This is the next step in our commitment to modernize the parking experience and we’re confident that Honk will serve the needs of our communities.”
“The Honk app is a perfect addition and similar to our other app, in that it knows where you are parking,” said Heather Hogarth Senior Manager of Operations, “which means that the customer does not have to walk around looking for a lot code to enter, they can pay from the safety of their own car or ahead of time.”
“Honk and EasyPark share a common goal of giving customers a great parking experience,” said Honk Founder & CEO Michael Back. “Honk is revolutionizing parking in North America and our expansion into Downtown Vancouver gives drivers more choice to search, find, and pay for parking. We’ve seen tremendous adoption from UBC over the last year, we’re excited to build off this momentum into the rest of Vancouver with EasyPark.”
From Victoria, to Granville Island, and all along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Honk is making parking in B.C. hassle-free. Motorists can get to their destinations faster – leaving more time to discover the natural beauty of Canada’s westernmost province.
