Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), released Wednesday, September 13, a sources sought notice in which it invited capable and interested vendors to share information about their ability to source (for deployment in the U.S. Virgin Islands) and provide a delivery timeline for the following:
- 25,000 Coleman stoves
- 50,000 Propane tanks (for us with the Coleman stoves)
- 25,000 Hand crank flashlights
- 25,000 tent support packages, made up of two 18″x18″x18″ boxes containing:
- Two collapsible five-gallon water containers
- 25 33-gallon trash bags
- One cook set
- 30 plastic or paper soup cups
- 30 plastic or paper drinking cups
- 30 plastic or paper plates
- 30 sets of plastic flatware
- One hand crank flashlight
- Eight cotton blankets
- One 25×20 tarp
- Two wash kits
- One solar-heated shower bag
- Four rolls of toilet paper
- One dual fuel stove (operates on Coleman fuel or unleaded gas, fuel not included)
FEMA plans to deploy the above items, according to the sources sought notice, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, as part of the agency’s response efforts in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
If FEMA determines there is enough interest and/or competition to satisfy the above requirements, the agency plans to release a complete solicitation. In this solicitation, FEMA will invite competitive bids and give information about when and how to respond. The sources sought notice indicates that the contractor(s) who receive(s) the contract may be responsible for delivering the items directly to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
