MatrixCare Appoints Former Kindred Healthcare Executive to Chief Transformation Officer

Nationally-Recognized Health IT Industry Veteran Joins Leadership Team in Newly Created Role

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Oct. 03, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MatrixCare®, the highest-ranked and largest long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) technology provider in the United States, today announced the appointment of Kindred Healthcare veteran Larry Wolf as Chief Transformation Officer. Wolf will draw upon his provider background to help MatrixCare communicate its value proposition to customers and potential customers in a way that resonates with their needs and vantage points. He will also work with the leadership team to ensure MatrixCare continues to evolve its solutions to help providers thrive in the ever-changing healthcare environment.

“Chief Transformation Officer is a new role—not only for MatrixCare, but also for the healthcare industry. As the market continues to evolve, companies like MatrixCare must move beyond simply selling solutions to taking more responsibility to guide providers in successfully transforming their businesses to thrive under value-based care,” said John Damgaard, President & CEO for MatrixCare. “Larry is the perfect candidate to lead our efforts in this area because he has a complementary mixture of key experiences: a top-tier provider perspective, a deep technology background, a successful track record with large-scale deployment and organizational change management initiatives, and US healthcare policy connections. This knowledge base will enhance MatrixCare’s ability to deliver real value from our enterprise technology solutions, empowering our customers to deliver better care at a lower cost to the growing senior population. We are proud to have a person of such caliber on our team.”

With more than 40 years of experience, Wolf is a nationally recognized industry leader with IT experience in a wide range of care settings. Prior to a successful consulting role, he served in a number of leadership roles at Kindred Healthcare, including CIO for Emerging Markets where Wolf supported new care delivery and payment models. He is chair for the Health Information Management Systems Society’s Public Policy Committee (HIMSS PPC) and a member of the LTPAC Health IT Collaborative. He has also served on the American Health Care Association’s Health IT Task Force and the American Hospital Association’s Interoperability Advisory Group. In addition to a number of other high-level roles, Wolf also has served on the Federal Health IT Policy and Standards Advisory Committee.

“I am excited to be joining the leadership team at MatrixCare to further the company’s mission of using technology to improve the quality of life for seniors,” said Wolf. “This is a challenging time for all healthcare providers with changes in business models, partnerships, payment and health needs and I'm looking forward to helping ensure our solutions meet that challenge.”
