AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, Oct. 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KASEYA CONNECT EUROPE -- Kaseya®, the leading provider of complete IT management solutions for managed service providers (MSPs) and mid-market enterprises (MME), today announced its GDPR Resource Center and Compliance Pack to help customers around the world tackle the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Scheduled to go into effect May 25, 2018, GDPR is a set of rules created by the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission to strengthen data protection for individuals within the European Union (EU). The regulation applies to all companies worldwide, who have data on EU citizens, and violations have significant fines of 4 percent of the violating company’s global annual revenue or €20m, whichever is greater.
“GDPR is a major reform in data protection law that has huge implications for our customers and our business,” said Jörn Hamann, managing director, Conform IT. “While there is much to do to prepare for the regulation, it’s also a prime opportunity for us to reassess the security of our clients’ data. VSA and the new Kaseya GDPR Compliance Pack will play a significant role in helping us comply with the regulation and demonstrate to our customers our ability to safeguard their data.”
The Kaseya GDPR Resource Center helps organisations understand, plan and build their compliance strategies. It includes a community portal where professionals can exchange ideas and best practices. The new GDPR Compliance Pack includes new compliance reports and technology to help customers worldwide comply with the regulation. Available as a free plugin to Kaseya’s flagship remote monitoring and management solution, VSA, the GDPR Compliance Pack allows IT professionals, data compliance officers and data privacy officers to:
- Discover all IT systems across their infrastructure to meet the GDPR risk assessment requirements
- Audit the current state of their infrastructure and user accounts to identify vulnerabilities
- Update and patch operating systems and third-party software applications to mitigate and remediate IT issues
- Protect data against malware and viruses
- Continuously demonstrate compliance with GDPR requirements with the help of purpose-built reports
“Since GDPR was announced last year, our customers around the world have been struggling to understand the ramifications and coming to us for help to prepare them for the impact of the impending regulation. We developed the Kaseya GDPR Resource Center and Compliance Pack in response to this overwhelming feedback. Now our customers have the level of visibility they need to proactively mitigate and immediately remediate non-compliance issues within their infrastructure,” said Mike Puglia, chief product officer, Kaseya. “The implications of GDPR are far reaching and not limited to companies in the EU. Every company that handles data for customers in Europe must begin preparing for GDPR compliance now.”
