PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Nov. 01, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Value Added Resellers (VARs), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and acquirers interested in deploying contactless EMV chip-enabled point of sale (POS) terminals can get first-hand testing training, clarification on testing requirements, and deployment best practices from the global payment networks at a U.S. Payments Forum workshop being held this December.
The workshop, “EMV Contactless Testing and Certification Workshop,” and will be held on December 6, 2017 from 3-5pm CT following the U.S. Payments Forum Quarterly Member Meeting in New Orleans, LA at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The workshop is open to Forum members and non-members. To register, visit http://www.cvent.com/d/m5qjcv.
“Merchant interest around contactless payments is growing – 36 percent already have contactless-capable terminals, and 28 percent of those contactless-capable terminals are activated to accept contactless cardsi. As more merchants look to move down that path, there are still a lot of questions about what has to be done to enable EMV-compliant contactless payments acceptance,” said Randy Vanderhoof, director of the U.S. Payments Forum. “As part of the U.S. Payments Forum’s ongoing effort to educate this segment, this workshop will answer these questions and will provide recommendations to help VARs, ISVs and acquirers get on the right path for implementing contactless chip technology.”
Through this workshop, developed and hosted by the Forum’s Testing and Certification Working Committee, attendees will:
- Better understand acceptance testing requirements across payment networks including American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa
- Learn about available acceptance chip testing solutions
- Get clarification on common misperceptions surrounding testing of contactless EMV POS systems
- Hear best practices on contactless EMV POS solution deployments
Non-members attending the workshop are invited to attend the full U.S. Payments Forum Member Meeting, being held December 5-6, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The agenda for the full meeting includes stakeholder updates on the status of EMV chip migration and attend panels, roundtables and education sessions on key EMV or other new payments technologies topics. Guests will also have networking opportunities with U.S. Payments Forum member attendees from all of the global payment networks and other stakeholders representing financial institutions, merchants, processors, acquirers, regional debit networks, device manufacturers and industry associations.
Non-members, excluding members of the media, can register for the workshop and the full U.S. Payments Forum Member Meeting as a guest for $295, or can register for the workshop only for $95. Members are invited to attend the workshop at no cost, but registration is required. Members and non-members can register here.
