Houston, TX, US, Nov. 08, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The International Association of Geophysical Contractors (IAGC) Vice President of Regulatory & Governmental Affairs, Dustin Van Liew today issued the following statement in support of bipartisan energy legislation, the SECURE American Energy Act (H.R. 4239):
“The International Association of Geophysical Contractors applauds the House Natural Resources Committee’s favorable passage, for consideration by the full House, of the “Strengthening the Economy with Critical Untapped Resources to Expand American Energy Act” or the “SECURE American Energy Act” and the defeat of measures aimed at removing oil and gas exploration permitting efficiencies. We fully support this practical approach to streamlining processes that ensure critical activities and projects such as offshore geophysical survey permitting for energy and mineral exploration can move forward and enable the U.S to remain energy secure.
“We are supportive of the Committee’s actions to bring more efficiencies and certainty to the permitting process and commend Congressman Mike Johnson (LA-04) for his leadership and insight in elevating the modernization of the Marine Mammal Protection Act in this Congress.
“The IAGC urges swift passage in the House and will continue to work with Congress and the Administration to address issues of importance to our members.”
