Austin, Texas, Dec. 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kimbia would like to congratulate its clients on raising $36.6 million online during the month of November. Several fall giving events, including #GivingTuesday, drive this success leading into a busy end-of-year giving season.
“I’m astounded to see over and over again what happens when you combine this giving day model, hard work from nonprofits, a frictionless donation experience and incredibly generous donors,” said Kimbia CEO Mark Perkins. “The result is powerful.”
GiveMN’s Give to the Max, held on November 16, 2017 raised a record-breaking $20.6 million in the 24-hour giving period. In its sixth year, Give Miami Day also set a new record on November 16 when it raised $10.1 million from 31,820 gifts for 700 nonprofits. Also in its sixth year and breaking its previous record, The Extraordinary Give, raised $8.6 million from 51,619 gifts for 464 nonprofits. This year the event raised over 5X what it raised in 2012 during its first year.
“The Extraordinary Give continues to gain momentum and inspire giving across our community,” said Executive Vice President Tracy Cutler of Lancaster County Community Foundation. “In 2017, we added new participating organizations, new donors, and an increased number of gifts for our sixth consecutive year. Kimbia’s technology expertise means that we can focus on generating excitement in our community and support for our participants with the confidence that every transaction is smooth and secure.”
On #GivingTuesday, Kimbia clients hosted several campaigns including #iGiveCatholic, Big Give Houston and #HoyasforOthers. Nonprofits raised $5,121,581 from 22,919 gifts and 21,496 unique donors on November 28.
Events like this not only raise more funds year after year, but also drive new donors. Big Give Houston saw 28% new donors. Giving days also see a high average gift. For example, #iGiveCatholic had an average gift of $267 — over 2.5X the industry average of $102 according to the 2016 M+R Benchmarks Study.
