The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Individual and Community Preparedness Division (ICPD) has awarded Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) a competitively bid contract worth $7.66 million to provide research, analysis, outreach, and communication support services to help build and sustain national preparedness. CTC, the prime contractor of this 21-month contract, has partnered with two small businesses: Motivf Corporation and Action Research.
“Our team hit the ground running on this contract,” said Bob Kubler, CTC Senior Director, Readiness and Training. “Within three days after contract award, we held a kickoff meeting and helped FEMA identify the 18 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) points of contact in Puerto Rico. Under this contract, CTC will assist FEMA’s ICPD with their important and critical mission to educate, train, and foster a culture of preparedness for individuals, families, and communities across America.”
The ICPD serves as the main preparedness link to individuals and families. The Division connects science-based research to communications, education, and tools that empower communities to prepare for, protect against, respond to, and recover from a disaster.
CTC and its partners will provide a range of functions to meet ICPD’s mission. In addition to administrative and program support, CTC will provide communications and outreach expertise to promote individual and community preparedness, which leads to FEMA’s objective to increase survival rates and improve disaster recovery. CTC will also conduct research to ensure that ICPD remains at the forefront of social science research as it relates to disaster preparedness.
