NEW YORK, Dec. 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Carl Roland, Senior Director at Pfizer, has been selected to join the Industry Board at the American Health Council. He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise in Clinical Development, Healthcare Education, Workforce Development, Business, Leadership, Management, Chemistry, and Pharmaeconomics.
Mr. Roland has been active in the healthcare industry for the last 25 years. He obtained his PharmD degree from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1981 and his MS from the University of Florida in 2013. He completed a fellowship at the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy in 1991 and a fellowship at the University of Utah in 2013.
Mr. Roland has been Senior Director at Pfizer, the leader in the American global pharmaceutical corporation, for the last 11 years. His day-to-day responsibilities include designing clinical development plans, performing health economic studies, and consulting on epidemiology of opioid abuse.
Mr. Roland attributes his success to hard work, dedication, and natural curiosity. He has led the development of anesthesia, analgesic, and epilepsy products, including 7 NDAs and 5 FDA Advisory Committee Meetings. He has published a book chapter and over 25 manuscripts. Mr. Roland’s long-term goals include continued research and teaching at the University of North Carolina as an adjunct professor. Professional awards and honors include the Glaxo Fellowship of UNC.
Mr. Roland is a member of the American Pain Society, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity, and Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society.
In his free time, Mr. Roland enjoys golf and backpacking.
