ASHEVILLE, N.C., March 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Avadim Technologies Inc. (“Avadim”), the Bionome TherapiesTM life sciences company, today announced that Steve Woody, the Company’s Founder and CEO, has been selected to speak at the upcoming inaugural TEDxRiverton 2018 event in South Jordan, Utah. In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. The premier conference will tackle the theme, “Dreams Don’t Work Unless You Do”, inspired by the hard work and commitment the speakers have endured in their respective fields, and will take place on March 22nd at Megaplex Theaters 20 at The District from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Local organizer Mandy Murry, who is the TEDxRiverton license holder, will host the event. It is open to the public, and a limited number of tickets can be purchased for $75 per person.
In his TEDxRiverton speech, Steve will take on the topic of “Your Human Space Suit”, aiming to challenge how society currently prioritizes personal hygiene, infection prevention, and cosmetic procedures - and change the way we take care of the largest organ on our body - our skin. Steve believes that if we better understand our “space suits”, we will better understand, as a global society, what it means to manage our overall health and wellness.
“I am honored to be selected to speak alongside a number of thought leaders across so many respectable industries,” said Steve Woody, Chairman and CEO of Avadim Technologies. “My hope is that these discussions spark conversation and change at the community level - and get people thinking not only about our world today, but the future as well. TEDx is a great platform, and I look forward to sharing my ideas and provoking discussion about a topic that is so close to my heart.”
Steve Woody has served as Avadim’s Chief Executive Officer since September 2013. With over 20 years experience in the medical devices field, he has assisted more than 30 companies with regulatory support and strategic planning necessary for the launch of new or modified medical devices, with the start of his career in the medical device field with a company called Medical Action Industries, Inc. (Medical Action). From there, Steve launched Integrated Quality Systems, an organization focused on launching new medical devices into the healthcare sector. In 2004, he founded G3 Medical, which focuses on manufacturing, packaging, and sterilization services along with quality system management before he formed Avadim LLC in 2006, which was later acquired by the Company.
