Glenview, Illinois, March 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teletrac Navman, a global software-as-a-service provider leveraging location-based technology and services for managing mobile assets, today announced they are sponsoring an essay and video contest on technology in the transportation industry for American college students. The two winners will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship each for the Fall 2018 semester.

To enter, applicants must submit either a 500- to 700-word essay or a two-minute video about how their field of study will advance technology in the transportation industry or the creation of smart cities (“smart cities” use data collected from citizens, devices and other assets to monitor and manage municipal systems, including transportation and traffic).
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year U.S. college or university. While the contest is open to students in all academic disciplines, applicants ideally will have completed coursework in technology, software development, transportation or other related areas. The $3,000 prize may be applied toward any academic expense, including textbooks.

Submissions will be reviewed by the Teletrac Navman Scholarship Committee, and the winner will be selected and contacted by July 5.
