ROSEVILLE, Calif., March 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ClearCaptions, a leading provider of innovative telephone captioning services and staunch advocate for individuals who are hard-of-hearing, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new corporate headquarters located at 3001 Lava Ridge Court, Suite 100, Roseville, California. Coordinated with the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, the event featured an official proclamation and remarks by state elected officials and members and ambassadors of the Chamber.
“This is an exciting event on so many levels,” says ClearCaptions CEO Robert Rae. “Following our company being recognized as the fastest growing in 2017 by the Sacramento Business Journal, our occupying of the new headquarters in Roseville sets us firmly for sustained and increased growth in 2018 and beyond. Most importantly, this allows us the facilities and functionality to further and better serve our customers – those who rely on us for the phone captioning needs.”
ClearCaptions began occupying the Lava Ridge site, within the Stoneview Plaza complex, in October of last year. Since then, the company has enhanced its internal systems to ensure the best environment for employees and, therefore, the best experience for its national workforce and the customers served. As a company, this move opens the door for expanding its local workforce, one that is actively drawing from the talent in Roseville and surrounding areas.
“ClearCaptions’ goal is to provide connections between people and enable independent living for individuals with hearing loss, wherever they are,” adds Monique Dirstine, Senior Director of Human Resources. “And we achieve this by employing the best talent, those who will share in our mission to keep people connected. We’ve employed over 100 people at our new headquarters and seek to add more as we continue to grow. We’re so thrilled to be a part of the Roseville community, we’re grateful to the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, and we’re eager to work in and contribute to this thriving area.”
How ClearCaptions works
ClearCaptions enables the near real-time transcription of a spoken phone conversation into text captions. Through use of the service, a caller’s words are converted into text for easy reading and reference. The service is free, made possible by federal funding in conjunction with Title IV of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and is available for a variety of technology platforms including personal computers, mobile devices and specially-designed captioning telephones.
ClearCaptions provides the Ensemble™ captioning phone, a breakthrough innovation in telephone technology that simplifies everyday communication for individuals who have any form of hearing loss. Besides captioning of the words a caller is saying, the phone also includes an audio-boosted handset that increases incoming call volume up to 50db. The integrated answering machine with captioned messaging, built-in call log, and hands-free speakerphone are but a few of the additional features of this remarkable phone.
“For the millions of people who have hearing loss, captioning enables them to enjoy everyday phone conversations that many of us take for granted,” said Gordon Ellis, ClearCaptions’ Vice President of Sales. “Making and receiving phone calls should be a comfortable experience for everyone. There’s no need to guess at what is being said or ask to have a caller repeat themselves; that’s what has made many people uneasy about using the phone. With the ClearCaptions service, we’re able to help folks enjoy using the phone again.”
