EDMONTON, Alberta , April 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Janice G. Rennie, FCA, F.ICD, has been appointed Board Chair of EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR), effective May 2, 2018. Ms. Rennie is currently a member of EPCOR’s Board of Directors, who has over the past 20 years, served on the Boards of leading Canadian companies across a range of industries. She succeeds Hugh J. Bolton, who will be retiring as EPCOR Board Chair, after leading the company since 2000 through a significant period of growth.

Ms. Rennie is an Edmontonian with a long-standing association with EPCOR. She initially served as a member of the EPCOR Board during the company’s formative days and through subsequent years of transformational growth from 1996 to 2004. Her second tenure with the Board began in May 2017.
Ms. Rennie currently serves on the Boards of Greystone Capital Management Inc., Major Drilling International Inc., Methanex Corporation, West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd., and WestJet Airlines. Her business background includes executive positions in large organizations and overseeing her own investment firm. This included the position of Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness at EPCOR during a time of transition. Ms. Rennie also held key executive positions with Princeton Developments.
Ms. Rennie graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction). Ms. Rennie has an extensive record of public service, contributing to numerous community, not-for-profit and educational organizations, in addition to public policy initiatives.
EPCOR’s sole Shareholder, The City of Edmonton, appoints the Board Chair, and receives a recommendation on the matter from the EPCOR Board, acting on the advice of the Board’s Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.
