NEW YORK, May 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, the Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2018 Spring Grants. BWF awards funding to organizations and programs that support positive outcomes for post-9/11 impacted veterans, service members and their families. This year’s beneficiaries include 16 diverse organizations who have demonstrated exceptional work in the areas of education and employment, quality of life, and rehabilitation and recovery.
“We plan to grant approximately $5 million to best-in-class organizations and programs in 2018, with the spring grants representing our first exciting selections,” said Anne Marie Dougherty, executive director, Bob Woodruff Foundation. “These grants will support a balanced portfolio of innovative programs that are fiscally responsible and offer measurable outcomes.”
Collectively, the spring recipients will receive more than $2.1 million in funding for evidence-based programs that help meet the emerging and long-term needs of our veterans and their families. In addition to providing funding, BWF works closely with grantees to ensure efficiency, gain awareness for evolving trends within the veteran space, and provide collaboration opportunities with other members of the grantee network.
BWF’s 2018 Spring Grants beneficiaries include well-established BWF partners as well as exciting new partner programs that address the nonprofit’s priorities for 2018, including access to quality mental healthcare, proper utilization of VA educational benefits, increasing social connectedness, and strengthening familial relationships.
