Gray Steers AFCEA Into the Future

Industry leader with experience in technology, intelligence and strategic planning takes reins at association.


Fairfax, VA, May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DeEtte Gray, president of U.S. operations for CACI International Inc, has been elected to serve as AFCEA International’s chair of the board of directors. In this role, she oversees the affairs of AFCEA, presiding over the council, the board of directors and the Executive Committee. She also serves as ex officio member of all association committees and subcommittees, the AFCEA Educational Foundation board of directors and the AFCEA Building Service Corporation.

Gray has been an AFCEA member since 2008. Most recently, she served as the association’s vice chair of the board of directors and member of the Executive Committee. In addition, Gray has been a member the AFCEA Budget and Finance as well as the Compensation committees.

Gray has held several leadership positions in industry. Before joining CACI, she was the president of BAE Systems’ Intelligence and Security sector where she oversaw the delivery of a range of capabilities and services. These included solutions in the areas of information technology, intelligence analysis, cyber operations, systems engineering, integration and sustainment.

Prior to BAE Systems, Gray spent 13 years at Lockheed Martin in several positions, including vice president of enterprise information technology solutions for information systems and global services-defense. In this position, she led the group’s worldwide business supporting the U.S. Defense Department and government agency customers with enterprise architecture, software, cybersecurity, network operations and project management solutions.

In the area of strategic planning, Gray has focused on a comprehensive growth strategy to sustain current customer support while aggressively pursuing new opportunities. At Lockheed Martin she also helped design the company’s strategic plan and led development of the company’s IT and homeland security strategies.

Gray is active in defense industry associations and has received numerous awards and recognition during her career, in both the education and defense fields. She received Lockheed Martin’s prestigious NOVA Award for Leadership, the company’s highest and most distinguished leadership recognition. 

Gray has a Master of Science degree from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the North Carolina State University. In 2014, she returned to NC State to deliver the commencement address to the College of Education.
