CAKE has completed its General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance readiness strategy in advance of the new regulation’s deadline and has also secured its Type 1 SOC 2 certification to help define an information and security policy and procedure.

The GDPR is an important piece of legislation designed to strengthen and unify data protection laws for all European Union (EU) citizens. Replacing the 1995 Data Protection Directive, the new regulation will be effective from May 25, 2018. According to Gartner, by the end of 2018, more than 50 percent of companies affected by the GDPR will not be in full compliance with its requirements.
