SARATOGA, Calif., June 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today Silicon Valley medical device innovator CapsoVision, Inc. announced a distribution partnership with PENTAX Medical to sell CapsoCam Plus®, the only capsule endoscope that includes four cameras and offers 360° panoramic lateral imaging of the small bowel. PENTAX Medical will also offer customers CapsoCloud™, the only cloud-based capsule endoscopy EMR system on the market.
PENTAX Medical currently sells a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy products including flexible GI endoscopes, but this will be the first time it will provide customers with a capsule endoscopy system. PENTAX Medical will offer CapsoCam Plus and CapsoCloud through their direct sales force and a network of sub-distributors across the U.S., while CapsoVision will continue to maintain distribution networks outside the U.S.

Along with 360° panoramic lateral imaging of the small bowel, CapsoCam Plus is the only capsule endoscopy system that does not require patients to wear expensive receiver equipment. Patients simply ingest the CapsoCam Plus capsule in their physician’s office, go home and return to their normal activities while the exam data is captured. Unlike other capsule endoscopy systems, there is no capital equipment to purchase or maintain.

The CapsoCam Plus video capsule system is intended for the visualization of the small bowel mucosa in adults. It may be used as a tool in the detection of abnormalities of the small bowel.
