CLEARWATER, Fla., June 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On June 6th the Church of Scientology Information Center hosted a quarterly reception for Downtown Clearwater Merchants, thanking them for creating a friendly, service-oriented environment for downtown visitors.
The reception was held at the 100 year-old historic Clearwater Building purchased by the Church of Scientology in 1975. Built in 1918, the property originally served as the Bank of Clearwater Building. On July 15th , 2015, it was re-opened to the public as the Scientology Information Center.
At the after-work reception, guests enjoyed a spread of light refreshments, relaxed and caught up with friends – an uncommon opportunity for them to enjoy hospitality for themselves.
“The Information Center has two unique roles. It provides information on Scientology and it’s also a gathering place for community meetings and events,” said Amber Skjelset, the Manager of the Center. “We host high-teas for social and non-profit groups and receptions such as these for the community. We will be hosting quarterly merchant receptions to provide these business owners and their staff an opportunity to stop a moment and enjoy themselves. They work hard and they deserve it.”
The next Info Center event will be on the 16th of June, where the East Coast Golden Age Theater will perform a classic short story by L. Ron Hubbard from the pulp fiction era.
The Center itself is open seven days a week, from 10am to 10pm.
