New York, NY, June 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Q&A Residential Hotel, an extended-stay hotel by renowned global temporary housing provider Furnished Quarters, announced today that it has selected Derek Stumpfhauser as its new General Manager. Derek will assume the role immediately, furthering the Lower Manhattan hotel’s mission to provide authentic residential experiences in spacious suites to business and leisure travelers.
Derek has spent ten years in the hospitality industry, starting out in guest service roles and later fulfilling front office and manager positions. His most recent title was Hotel Manager for Four Points Midtown Times Square. Derek’s multifaceted responsibilities have included revenue and occupancy forecasting, budgeting, marketing, staffing, setup and operations. He has demonstrated a fervent ability to improve guest satisfaction and consistently bring in business.
“Derek joins us at a time when more and more hotels are trending toward residential, apartment-like accommodations, making it ever crucial for Q&A Hotel to remain ahead of the curve,” said Steve Brown, CEO of Q&A Residential Hotel. “We’re excited to leverage his hospitality expertise and business savvy to take the hotel even further.”
With his experience working for boutique, extended-stay brands and new or early-phase hotels, Derek is expressly qualified for his role at Q&A Residential Hotel. Opened in late 2015, Q&A occupies 132 rooms on four floors of the storied 70 Pine building, located in the heart of New York’s Financial District. The spacious suites are three times the size of typical Manhattan hotel rooms and include full-sized, fully equipped kitchens, creating a uniquely residential quality that is suitable for longer-term stays.
As Q&A’s new General Manager, Derek will be tasked with continuing to drive demand to what is already a profitable, dynamic, expanding hotel. In mid-2017, the hotel added organic grocery store and gourmet food hall City Acres Market to its robust list of amenities, which also includes state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center La Palestra and acclaimed Australian café Black Fox Coffee Co.
Most recently, Q&A announced a 5% cash back program for guests who book direct, powered by The Guestbook.
