MacB Awarded Advanced Sensors and Electronic Warfare Task Order for AFRL

DAYTON, Ohio, June 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company delivering advanced engineering services, cybersecurity and product solutions, announced today that it has been awarded an Effective Sensor Technology Evaluations and Enabling Methodologies (ESTEEM) program task order by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Spectrum Warfare Systems Engineering Branch (RYWD). The award requires the development/evolution of research methodologies for rapid assessment of advanced sensors and Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies. MacB’s initial contract value is $9.6 million over a five-year period. Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and MacB corporate headquarters in Dayton.

AFRL is dedicated to scientific research leading to the discovery, development, and integration of warfighting capabilities for the Nation’s air, space, and cyberspace forces. As part of AFRL’s Sensors Directorate, the Integrated Demonstrations and Applications Laboratory (IDAL) is a leading EW simulation facility that combines Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Human-in-the-Loop modeling and simulation to get next generation systems into the hands of the warfighter.

MacB engineers, scientists, analysts and technical program managers will conduct research assessments and evaluations (both qualitative and quantitative) of advanced sensors and EW technologies via IDAL’s real-time synthetic battlespace simulation. The goal is to use the collaborative data to evolve integrated technologies/concepts for spectrum warfare, and the development of advanced methodologies in all phases of Science and Technology research.

“MacB has delivered high-end specialty engineering expertise for the Sensors Directorate of AFRL for more than 25 years, which includes a legacy of developing innovative IDAL evaluation capabilities for HITL testing of radar warning receivers,” said Cindy Martin, Vice President of System Development Operations for MacB’s Advanced Technology Group (ATG). “This award allows us to continue offering innovations that will significantly enhance the ESTEEM program’s Anti-Access Area Denial (A2AD) Synthetic Battlespace Prototyping Methodologies (APM).”
