BOSTON, July 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Starburst, the Presto company, today announced the Inaugural Presto Summit, co-hosted by the open source query engine’s developer Facebook at the Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park on July 16.
The all-day event will feature user presentations by LinkedIn, Lyft, Netflix, FINRA and Uber describing how they use big data analytics and Presto to improve operations, security and customer experience. “Since its public release almost five years ago by Facebook, Presto has been adopted by progressive businesses and government agencies alike, for good reason. Presto is the fastest open-source distributed query engine, making it easier and less expensive to analyze big data, anytime, anywhere,” said Justin Borgman, co-founder at Starburst. “We’re looking forward to presenting Starburst’s recently contributed cost-based query optimizer for Presto, listening to our customer FINRA’s session about using Presto in the cloud and gaining insight from Facebook’s lead developers about the state of Presto and its growing community. In addition, the user sessions by Facebook, LinkedIn, Lyft, Netflix and Uber promise to reveal valuable information about production deployments.”
