TORONTO, July 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Team Atomica is proud to be a part of the 2018 Toronto Triathlon Festival (TFF).
On July 22, athletes of all abilities will take on a unique and urban race on the highways of Canada’s urban capital.
With both Sprint and Olympic Distance Races (as well as relay options), the Toronto Triathlon Festival both celebrates and tests human endurance annually. It runs Friday, July 20 through to the main event on Sunday, July 22.
“Having a World Class Olympic Distance event in downtown Toronto elevates the sport and brings huge excitement to the race experience. There is nothing like being able to sleep in your own bed and then literally bike down to the race start of a very competitive race. It allows family and friends a chance to easily watch what these athletes dedicate so much of their free time to. Having friends and family watch you race, cheer you on and hug you at the finish is often rare in this sport but unforgettable. I encourage everyone who I coach to take part in this event; it is through racing locally that we will continue to have a thriving Triathlon community in Toronto,” says Ayesha Rollinson, Team Atomica Founder.
On Saturday, July 21, at 8:40 a.m. ET, Team Atomica will have teams in the Mixed Club Championships Race.
Following that, Team Atomica have athletes present in almost every race throughout the weekend.
This is exciting for Team Atomica as 2017 saw two winners, and six athletes place in various races throughout the weekend:
Claudia Bolognesi 1st in Women’s 45-50 Olympic
Jess Campbell 1st in Women’s 50-54 Olympic
George Dedopoulous 4th Men’s 40-44 Olympic
Laura Lipscei 3rd in Women’s 40-44 Sprint
Alan Mcluskie 2nd in Men’s 30-34 Draft Legal Sprint
Petrina Dolby 1st in Women’s 55-59 Draft Legal Sprint
Team Atomica also came 5th in the Olympic Distance Relay
Team Atomica will also have a booth at the TFF’s 2018 Sports Expo. The onsite addition to the festival features the latest in fitness gear, demos and industry news.
Ayesha Rollinson, will be onsite all weekend at the TFF and is available for print, radio, and TV interviews leading up to and during the festival.
