IRVINE, California, July 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- – Commemorating 20 years of providing in-home assistance that enables seniors and other adults to live comfortably and safely in their own homes, Comfort Keepers® is hosting a day of celebrations and the official start of a year-long program that gives back to clients.
A leading provider of quality, in-home care for seniors and other adults, Comfort Keepers offices around the country will host open house events on July 18 to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary and kick-off 20 Years, 20 Wishes, a program designed to grant surprise wishes to clients and caregivers.
“For 20 years, Comfort Keepers has been elevating the lives of thousands of seniors by treating them with respect and dignity,” said Comfort Keepers CEO Carl McManus. “We’re extremely proud and excited to have reached this milestone, and we want to commemorate it by making the wishes of 20 special people come true.”
Founded in 1998 as a service to help patients with non-medical needs, Comfort Keepers is celebrating its platinum anniversary by granting 20 wishes to 20 lucky clients and caregivers from around the country. Leading up to the national anniversary celebration, Comfort Keepers offices and caregivers have been secretly nominating people to have their wishes granted, with plans for the chosen 20 to be surprised throughout the year with the granting of a special wish.
“Whether it’s attending a loved one’s recital, having dinner at a favorite restaurant, or going to the beach for a few hours to feel the warmth of the sun, every person has something that he or she longs to experience,” McManus said. “Over the years, we’ve found that these kinds of moments can make a profound difference and improve people’s quality of life for years to come.”
Comfort Keepers granted its first wish on July 3 to Tom Martin, a client of Comfort Keepers of Hilliard, Ohio. Martin’s wish was to pursue one of his longtime passions by attending a classic car show, something he hadn’t been able to do for years. Comfort Keepers held a surprise party for Martin on July 3rd where it announced the granting of his wish. Four days later, Martin and his caregiver Linda Roberts attended the Goodguys’ 21st PPG Nationals Car Show at the Ohio Expo Center.
Over the last 20 years, Comfort Keepers has become a valued resource for families and seniors who depend on its caregivers for loving, comforting care. The brand was founded in 1998 in Springfield, Ohio. In 2009, Sodexo Inc. purchased the franchising operations of Comfort Keepers, growing it into a global franchise with more than 600 offices in the U.S. and 700 offices worldwide. Today, Comfort Keepers franchises provide in-home care services to thousands of seniors and other adults so they can live safely, happily and independently at home.
