2018 Government Innovation Award Winners Announced

The publications of 1105 Public Sector Media Group are pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Government Innovation Awards.

McLean, VA, Aug. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- These awards celebrate transformative government projects, individual change agents and industry partners that are reimagining public-sector IT. True innovation in government is a team effort, and the award categories reflect that collaboration.

This year's winners include:

  • 20 Rising Stars, early-career leaders from both government and industry;
  • 25 Industry Innovators, firms that are bringing world-class solutions to their government customers; and
  • 36 Public Sector Innovations, projects from federal, state and local agencies that feature both cutting-edge technology and creative approaches to critical government missions.

These winning projects, companies and individuals will be celebrated at the Government Innovation Awards dinner on Nov. 8 at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner in Northern Virginia. Details on that event, and the award program overall, can be found at governmentinnovationawards.com

"Government often doesn't get the credit it deserves for driving truly impressive innovation," FCW and GCN Editor-in-Chief Troy K. Schneider said. "Many of the most important technologies we depend on every day spun out of government efforts, and those successes were made possible by the combined work of agencies, industry partners and countless talented individuals. As the list of 2018 winners makes clear, those collaborations continue to produce great things."

Detailed profiles of all the winners will be published this fall in FCW, GCN, Washington Technology and Defense Systems, both online and in print.
